Sketch Work: Building The Skinny

These are just some working ideas. I was thinking what it would be like to actually build these figures out of the painting rather than have them just sit in the painting, thus they would exist in both a 2D and 3D world. However, I think they look too much like monuments right now and I don't like      that. I want them to be strong images, but I don't want them to lose the original inspiration. We'll see how it goes I guess...

Sketch Work: After Kevin Carter

These are the images I began to sketch after seeing Kevin Carter's photography. I found myself rather disturbed by the image and these are the images that surfaced due to it.

Kevin Carter Photographer

This is Kevin Carter, he was a South-African Photojournalist. Awhile back I was on Reddit.com and saw a posting about Kevin and his life. I read about this picture before seeing. Its rather disturbing and has influenced my drawings/ paintings as of recently. Below is the image which won Kevin a Pulitzer Prize in 1993.

Experimental Works

These works are essentially experimental works developed after the Forms in Environment. My only goal was to play with the materials I had with me at the time and see what happened thereafter.

Forms in Environment

Seeing where it goes still… Original sketch to the left and final painting below.

Not exactly sure what my goal here was. I was basically just playing with ideas of forms and environments... clearly.

Another Lecture Drawing

Another design like drawing... inspired by those who complain about having no money, yet refuse to get a job.

Lecture Drawing

Random sketch I did during one of my lecture classes... Not sure what it is, but it was fun to draw.
