Final: Better Days

Finished this guy up last week. Pretty happy with it surprisingly. I realized I had to finish it one day on my day off and then get it shipped out for the Art Deck Company.

WIP: Who?

Got this board going today as well. I was in love with the sketch however, not so sure about the board yet...

I guess I just wish the face was bigger and the colors were more pronounced. I plan to keep working on it to hopefully get it there.

ArtDeckCo Board

Started this the other night. Normally when I am doing a painting on canvas I like to work with organic shapes on a larger canvas and then limit my color palette.

My skateboards have been a little different, so I thought I'd mix it up a little. Anyway, this is what I got out of it... I used a plastic knife for the black lines and the shape itself.

After working on it, I realized that this just was not what I wanted over all, so I sprayed the board an ivory white and started over. This was earlier today while watching Scream. I tried doing just the back space before getting into the body of the figure.

This is my almost final product. Still working on it though. The bottom 'limb' looks like a penis (in my opinion) which is not what I was going for, so that will need to be changed. Other than that, I want the figure to carry more detail, so I need to go in and work on that as well.

Final: Owl

For whatever reason, I do not have any in-progress photos of this guy. I randomly pulled this one together some time last week on one of my days off.

Final: Untitled

Finished this guy yesterday morning. He currently does not have a name, but I'm happy with him.

Final: The Lion

After changing this board about 5 times I have finally settled with something and I am actually happy with it. Took me awhile to get here, but I am definitely loving the animal portraits.

Final: Apollo

Happy with how this turned out. Not totally stoked about the font for Apollo though. Maybe it's just not as sleek as I would like for it to be. But all in al I am happy with this design.

Final (I think): Safari Tri Portrait

I think this is officially finished.

WIP: Apollo

Pretty stoked about this guy. I actually already finished this one up and will have the final photos posted soon. This was the original sketch and then a progress picture of it in the making.

WIP: Rupert

These look like final photos but they aren't. I think I hate this board. I just don't like what is going on with it. I like what I did with the backspace, but with Rupert, I just don't like him at all. Thinking of just spray painting the entire board and going a totally different direction with it. Chances are that'll happen next week.

WIP: Safari Tri Portrait

It has been far too long since I posted anything, I've just been oddly busy. Anyway, these are some in progress pictures from the safari set I was working on. I'll have final photos posted soon.

Beginning: Safari Tri Portrait

I have been in talks of doing a trade with a friend. I'm working on doing a set of three decks, safari themed. I have never painted a giraffe or a cheetah, but it should be fun.

Original sketch:

Whole board (not finished yet):

First off, painting a giraffe is hard. Fun, but it was definitely harder than I expected. However, I am very happy with how this has turned out.

Second, this is not finished yet. It will not be completed until all three boards are done. Plus, I want to add a few silhouetted trees in the background. I can't put those in until I have all three boards though, since the background is going to overlap from board to board.

I plan to try and sit down tonight and prep the other two boards and then work on the background for all three boards.

Final: Winged Elephant Deck

Finished this guy today. Thought about adding some kind of shading in the background but ended up deciding to leave it simple and highlighted the wings with the yellow. Overall happy with it and you will definitely see more boards coming with winged creatures like this one.
